You know, I often find myself thinking about how lucky it is that there's even life on this little rock floating in space. Not only are we here, we're moving, changing, interacting, growing, evolving. And for as long as people have been around, they've always tried to make things better, safer, more comfortable, easier to understand, more accessible, enjoyable. If Design isn't the pursuit of those same primitive goals, what else is it?
And see, that's the thing. For as long as I can remember, I have always believed that the compass that points towards good design comes from this intuitive, human place. Yes, along the way I got a degree, learnt all about behavior, psychology, and patterns, became a researcher who really squeezed out all the numbers you can from things to learn about them. And learning about things is the best way to understand them. This definitely has made me better designer.
When you start making things, it is the most natural question to ask yourself, who am I making this for? Now the horizon becomes learning everything about who is using what you're making. Learning about people is the best way to understand them. And that is where I find "design happening", at the intersection of wanting to build things people will use and understanding how and why people use things.
I design products that make complex systems feel clear and humane. I care deeply about craft, accessibility, and using research to cut through ambiguity. I’m most effective when shaping strategy, challenging assumptions, and helping teams build things that earn user trust.
I strive to make design inclusive by centralizing people of all abilities, backgrounds, and perspectives. If we aren’t intentionally inclusive, we risk being unintentionally exclusive.
